English Arabic

Erbi

A learning journey of a lifetime

What if a language can express itself through an alphabet one is already familiar with?

Welcome to Erbi 101 :)

Characters | Sounds

Some sounds tend not to be represented by their own characters.

If 'x' represents the 'sh' sound then let's allow 'v' and 'V' to represent the sounds 'th' and 'the' we also already have in English respectively.

Some sounds...

Some letters in Arabic are somewhat similar to others and can be read similar to them (for now). One eventually needs to practice their pronunciation as suggested by Terry.

There are seven such letters: H, T, S, D, Z, and G sounding like h, t, s, d, z, and g (as in go), along with 'j' which sounds like 'kh' in the names Juan and José.
